Buy. This. CD.
Listen to this song.
No, go back. Listen to that song. And listen again. And again. And again.
Good, feel better? Well, you should. And you should feel elated to know that you have now just joined the thousands of others who are in love with The Blakes, a trio of nice fellows from Seattle.
They signed to Light In The Attic Records (full disclosure: I sporadically do some graphic design for them, without pay, because I love what they do, so this is only partially biased) a few months back, and if you live in Seattle you can now purchase their self-titled full length release (well, in an hour and a half anyway). The release date nationally is October 16th.
In fact, if you don’t love them, don’t bother coming back here. The Daily Belmore officially disowns you as a reader.
But if you do, you should check out the Streets EP as well.
Lastly, please be sure to attend at least one (I’ll be at both) of their shows this Friday night. They are playing an all ages show at The Vera Project (at the new location on Warren and Republican at the Seattle Center) at 7:30 with fellow LITA labelmates The Saturday Knights, and a 21+ show at 10 at the Crocodile Cafe with The Cops and The Old Haunts. Each show is $8 (unless you’re a Vera Project member, in which case that show is $7).
